IMPORTANT INFORMATION

 

 

Get ready for a WESTERN ADVENTURE as you come out to this year's Walkathon!

 

The 2026 ALTA VISTA Boot Scootin' Walkathon will be all things funky, fun & footloose!

 

Each grade level will come out during the school day to walk laps, and then the fun continues after school from 3:00-6:00 PM. After school, this event is for the whole family, so bring your chairs & blankets and plan to hang out for the afternoon!

 

 

REGISTER FOR THE WALKATHON

 

Families will need to submit a $50 registration fee for each child in order to be eligible for prizes. This money helps pay for T-shirts as well as other Walkathon expenses.

 

Every student  will receive a Walkathon T-shirt, which will be passed out by teachers on the day of the event. 

 

The first 100 students registered get a FREE Alta Vista keychain!

 

 

GET READY TO WALK!

 

Laps will be tracked on your child's T-shirt.

 

Students should wear athletic shoes to the event and bring a water bottle.

 

The following stations will also be onsite for the event:

  • Face Painters
  • Crazy Hair
  • Cougar Cage

Food trucks, including Wonk’s Tacos, will be available from 3:00–6:00 PM, along with a Cotton Candy Bar (bring cash!), pizza, and other concessions.

 

 

DON'T FORGET TO CHECK OUT!

 

On your way out at the end of the event, please make sure to stop by our checkout table so we can record the number of laps your child completed to be entered for Walkathon prizes.

 

NO CHECKOUT = NO PRIZES!

 

 

HELP US REACH OUR $50,000 GOAL!

 

All money raised goes directly to AVHSC so that we can continue to bring students the really FUN stuff at school, like field trips and other amazing on campus activities!

 

This is one of our biggest fundraisers of the year, and it cannot be a success without the support of our community, so please register and fundraise!

 

We encourage every family to help with fundraising by asking neighbors and family members to donate toward your child's Walkathon.

 

 

Our goal is to raise $50,000 this year!!!

Dollar Amount Raised Prizes*

 

  1. All students who raise $500 will receive a $40 credit to our AVHSC Store**.
  2. All students who raise $350 will receive a $25 credit to our AVHSC Store**.
  3. All students who raise $250 will receive a $10 credit to our AVHSC Store**

* Amount raised does not include the $50 registration

** Credit can be used towards any spirit wear purchase and expires on 05/30/2027.

Important Notes to Parents
  1. You must register your student(s) to receive pledges and be eligible for prizes. Please click on STUDENT CENTER at the top of the screen to register. 
  2. All students planning to attend the Walkathon after school must be accompanied by an adult. Children CAN NOT stay after school unsupervised and participate in the Walkathon.
  3. 5th grade parents - all monies raised will go towards your students Science Camp fees. Click here for more information.

Alta Vista's Spooky Sprint 2023 Walkathon

 

 

Thank you to all the families that came out to Walkathon on October 13th, 2023! It was great to see so many parents and families out on the field! We had a lot of volunteers that showed up to help and we could not have done it without you! Just to give everyone an idea of how successful this event was, we would like to share some impressive numbers with all of you. 

 

  • We had 420 student registrations which is about 72% of the school. 

  • We had at least 94 volunteer signups to help with planning and help during the event. 

  • We had 530 students turn in laps cards and with all the recorded laps the students combined ran over 3,500 miles!

  • We raised just over $50,000.00 and after fees and event expenses netted over $38,000.00. Thank you to all the families that registered and helped get donations from friends and family. 

  • We are awarding 126 prizes!

Thank you to all the families that participated in our 2022 Walkathon!
 
  • We had 417 student registrations which is about 75% of the school. 
  • We issued more than 350 student wristbands which tells us that we had a high turnout of students and families participating after school. 
  • We had over 100 volunteer signups to help with planning and help during the event. 
  • We had over 295 student’s check out at the end of the day to record their number of laps.
  • We raised a total of over $57,000 and after fees and event expenses netted over $45,000. Thank you to all the families that registered and helped get donations from friends and family.
  • We awarded 135 prizes
